We are very excited that the National Land Commission has determined that 14 properties made up of City Park land, are to be revoked.

City Park is public land, a green space made up of lawns, gardens and special collections, river and forest.  The Friends have long been engaged in stopping the land grab and advocating greater protection of City Park.  In 2009 City Park was gazetted as a National Monument, protected under the Museums and Heritage Act.

We take this opportunity to thank the NLC Chairman, Dr. Swazuri and Commissioners, and wait to hear of the completion of the process in revoking these parcels, and ensuring that City Park remains for all the residents of Nairobi to use and enjoy.
