Friends of City Park hosted world renowned landscape architect, Mr. Hitesh Mehta, at City Park to discuss how to create a masterplan for the rehabilitation of the Park to its former glory. Ms. Loise Maina of Nairobi County Council Government joined the meeting.

Mr. Hitesh, was delighted to reconnect with memories of spending time at City Park during his childhood. Hitesh’s guidance for creating a good masterplan included addressing recreational, safety and security issues in the masterplan, and bringing on line money generating activities early on to create financial sustainability. The Masterplan will be drafted in conjunction with Nairobi County Council Government and National Museums of Kenya after which Stakeholder engagement will commence to ensure that their needs and viewpoints are taken into consideration.
